One shared calendar
See whose night it is at a glance, with your council’s term dates and bank holidays built in. Ask to swap a day, and both of you see the answer.
For separated parents in England and Wales
BothWays keeps the schedule, messages, shared costs and the children’s details in one place, with a record you can trust if things ever go to mediation or court.

BothWays is built for both parents equally, because children do best when the adults around them can work things out calmly.
Nobody can edit, delete or quietly unsend. What one parent can do, the other can do too.
No hidden read receipts and no private notes on the shared record. You both see the same calendar, messages and costs.
One plan covers the whole family. Nobody has to pay to keep up with the other.
See whose night it is at a glance, with your council’s term dates and bank holidays built in. Ask to swap a day, and both of you see the answer.
Messages can’t be edited or deleted by either of you, so nobody has to argue later about what was said.
Add a cost with a photo of the receipt. Your co-parent agrees it, the split is worked out for you, and child maintenance is tracked too.
School, doctor, allergies and medicines in one place, kept up to date by both of you. Children never have accounts.
Export a PDF set out the way family courts ask, with a code anyone can check at bothwaysforcoparents.com/verify.
Tone check can suggest a calmer wording before you send. It never changes or blocks a message, and you can turn it off.
Write down how things went. It’s encrypted on your phone, so not even BothWays can read it.
Give a mediator or solicitor read-only access for as long as you choose. A mediator needs you both to agree.
Periwinkle for your time, apricot for your co-parent’s. Clear, quiet and easy to read.

The sealed record
Every message, schedule change and cost is added to a sealed record. Each entry is locked to the one before it, and the whole chain is checked against a copy that can’t be changed. If anything were edited, it would show.

Safety
If contact with your co-parent doesn’t feel safe, BothWays has tools to help, and none of them sit behind a paywall.
BothWays can’t respond to emergencies or contact the police for you. If you’re in danger, call 999. The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is free on 0808 2000 247, day or night.
Your family’s messages, records and photos are held in London and protected by UK GDPR.
School terms and bank holidays for your area, checked against your council’s own page.
Exports follow the rules for court bundles in England and Wales.
No advertising, no tracking tools, and your data is never sold or used to train AI.
Free during early access. Everything is free while BothWays is in early access. These are the planned prices. You’ll be told well before paid plans start, and nothing is charged unless you choose a plan.

or £49 a year. Covers both parents.
If you get Universal Credit, legal aid or a court fee remission, or you’re working with a domestic abuse service, you can have the Family plan for free.
No. You can set up the schedule and the children’s details on your own, then invite them when you’re ready. Messages and shared costs start once they join. Whoever joins gets exactly the same view and the same features as you.
No, not by either parent and not by BothWays. Every message, schedule change and cost goes into a sealed record, where each entry is locked to the one before it. If anything were changed, it would show.
Your first name and the shared record: the calendar, messages, costs and the children’s details. They never see your address, email, phone number, journal, or anything about your safety settings.
Not by default. There are no screens that let anyone at BothWays read family messages or records. If access were ever needed, for example to fix a fault you reported, it would need a logged reason, end automatically, and show in your Access log in the app.
Your family’s data is stored in London, on Google Cloud. Sign-in and phone notifications use Google services that can’t be held in one country, so they carry as little as possible: no children’s names, no message text and no addresses.
Nothing while BothWays is in early access. After that, a free plan stays free, and the Family plan is planned at £4.99 a month or £49 a year, covering both parents. You’ll be told well before paid plans start, and nothing is ever charged unless you choose a plan.
BothWays is built around the courts and rules of England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland come later.
iPhone comes first. Android follows.
No. BothWays keeps an accurate record and helps you share it, but it isn’t a law firm. For advice about your situation, speak to a solicitor or a family mediator.
BothWays for Coparents is made and run by an independent developer, not a company. If you need help, use Support in the app.
One calm plan, the same for both of you.
